Enniscorthy
Enniscorthy is situated on en-route from Rosslare to Dublin on the N11. It is approximately 26 miles from Rosslare and 70 miles from Dublin.
It is a very historic town where the 1798 Rebellion took place on Vinegar Hill. The Hill overlooks the town and is a huge tourist attraction. The River Slaney runs through the town and is popular for its salmon fishing.
The tourist office is in the ’98 Rebellion Centre. This centre was built in 1978 to commemorate the battle of Vinegar Hill and the battle is re-enacted by audio visual at the Centre.
Enniscorthy is mainly a market town and the town continues to make strides with new developments in industry and infrastructure. The Chamber works with the Town council to promote developments in the area and relationships.
Enniscorthy offers top class accommodation to visitors or those wishing to stay in the town. You can choose from one of our three hotels or from the many top-grade B&B’s conveniently located throughout the town.
The accommodation caters for those wishing to obtain easy access to the town and for people who prefer the quieter and sometimes more rural settings.
